Poll Everywhere is a fascinating little site... seems they've developed a method of polling individuals via text, twitter, websites: all very reasonably priced (with a free plan available!
I love free stuff...)
Back in the day... (c'mon you can't be over 50 and not use that phrase, right?) when I was on the internet during the early 90's (when there were all of six people, myself and maybe some universities), everything seemed to be free - it was a blossoming anarchy.
Then along came capitalism, Napster, the RIAA, and suddenly people stopped...
Not the case with this company, though: the free account is limited to 30 responses - more than enough for a small group of people to test the waters of their organization.
An instructor friend of mine uses this program to facilitate input from his students, via their cell phones... which is great, when you consider that every kid in the country carries one, and if they (their parents) are smart - with an unlimited text plan.
What an inspired use of an item that is rapidly becoming an appendage for many of us.
